Though the accordion and concertina might look similar at first glance, they have many differences.
The accordion is a large, robust instrument known for its iconic look and versatile sound. It features a piano-style keyboard on one side and buttons on the other, played by squeezing and expanding the bellows.
The concertina is a small, portable instrument with a unique charm, easily recognized by its hexagonal or octagonal shape. Unlike the accordion, concertinas come in different systems like English, Anglo, and Duet, each offering distinct layouts and sounds. It produces music by pressing buttons on both ends, which activate reeds to create specific pitches.

Speaking of instruments, I’ve always found the accordion to be incredibly romantic and relaxing. It truly shines in French music, revealing its full potential and adding a unique charm. I hope you enjoy this video I found: youtu.be/PE16rA9j_Wk

The accordion version of "We Are Young" by Fun offers a unique twist on the original pop-rock hit. Typically, accordion versions of songs like this bring out a more folk or indie vibe, blending the song's catchy melodies with the rich, expressive sound of the accordion. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifHRDBx-ctw

youtu.be/supA2J-eD1I It's amazing to see such a classic tango performed on the accordion. I love how each artist brings their unique style to this iconic piece while keeping its essence intact. Great job!

In the mid-19th century, Ireland's Gaelic Revival aimed to preserve and promote Irish language, literature, and music. The concertina, alongside the accordion, became essential instruments in this cultural resurgence. Its emotive capabilities and storytelling through music resonated deeply with Irish musicians, who embraced it as a symbol of their identity and heritage.

It's fascinating how Chopin's Prélude Op. 28, No. 4 resonates with such depth and emotion. The piece's connection to Chopin's own funeral and its evocative title, potentially linked to "What tears from the depths of the damp monastery?" www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W03Plgbo28&t=6s

Bella Ciao is a widely loved and simple tune to learn on the piano accordion. With just 3 bass chords and 7 treble notes, you can master it in a day! www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS6nxZlmB8U
